BLOOMINGTON, Ind. ––– Indiana Wrestling head coach Angel Escobedo announced the signing of Blaine Frazier to the Indiana Wrestling program on Friday afternoon.
"We're excited to add Blaine to the Indiana Wrestling family!" Escobedo said. "Blaine capped off an incredible Iowa high school wrestling career finishing as a three-time state finalist and a 2022 state champion. A hard worker in the classroom and on the mat; Blaine's wrestling skills will transition very well to college wrestling. He is an intelligent wrestler who is great in the neutral position and very dominant on the mat. We project Blaine as a 133/141 pounder."
The Mount Pleasant, Iowa, native was a four-year standout at Notre Dame-West Burlington High School.
He enjoyed an incredibly successful high school career, owning a 201-11 overall record and earning state finalist honors three times. He capped off his prep tenure with a 53-0 senior season and an individual state title at the 132-pound weight class.
In the process, he helped his school win the class 2A state team title.
Once on campus, Frazier will begin his studies in the Kelley School of Business.
Frazier's signing brings Indiana's 2022 class to four signees, each hailing from a different state.
The other three class of 2022 recruits include:
Henry Porter | 141/149 lbs. | Gilroy, Calif.
Ty Lillard | 157/165 lbs. | Aurora, Ohio
Gabe Sollars | 197 lbs. | Terre Haute, Ind.
