BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana linebacker Micah McFadden was selected by the New York Giants in the fifth round (146th pick overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft on Saturday afternoon.
McFadden is the first Hoosier taken by the Giants since offensive tackle James Brewer in 2011 and the 11th overall selected by New York.
The Hoosiers have had 13 players drafted since 2014 and at least one selected in each of the last nine years, the program's longest streak since 1983-98.
McFadden finished his IU career with 216 tackles, 149 solo, 14 sacks (94 yards), 37 for loss (169 yards), four interceptions, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and four pass breakups. The 2020 All-American's 37 TFLs share sixth in program history.
