
Two More Hoosiers Qualify for National Championships On Saturday

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Mahogany Jenkins and Jayden Ulrich of Indiana Track & Field advanced to national championships as the Hoosiers wrapped up hosting the 2022 NCAA Track & Field East Preliminary Round.
KEY MOMENTS
• On her last throw, Jayden Ulrich qualified for national championships in the discus. Ulrich saw a mark of 52.73m (173' 0") which abled her to grab the final qualifying spot.
• In dramatic fashion, Mahogany Jenkins advanced to Oregon in the high jump. During a jump off with one other competitor, Jenkins was able to clear a height of 1.81m (5' 11.25") to capture 12th and advance.
•. Returning in the triple jump just a couple hours later,
• Hannah Stoffel returned in the 1500m where she placed 15th overall with a time of 4:15.22
• Sarah Schmitt was the final Hoosiers to compete on Saturday, going a time of 16.48.59 in the 5000m.
NOTABLES
• The national championships in a few weeks will be a first for Mahogany Jenkins. She qualified in the high jump with her 12th place finish.
• The discus will be Jayden Ulrich's second event of the championships. The freshman also qualified in the shot put with a mark of 17.05m (55' 11.25").
• Hannah Stoffel's time of 4:15.22 in the 1500m was a personal best for the senior.

Saturday's competition concluded the 2022 NCAA Track & Field Championships. A group of five Hoosiers will now look to the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted in Eugene, Ore. at Hayward Field. The meet is scheduled for June 8 through June 11.
