Brathwaite Earns Big Ten Men’s Track Athlete of the Week

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Big Ten Conference announced their track & field weekly honors on Wednesday afternoon. Indiana Track & Field's Rikkoi Brathwaite was awarded Men's Track Athlete of the Week after his efforts at Penn Relays.
To kick off Penn Relays, Brathwaite helped the men's sprint medley relay squad to a Championship of America win. The quartet broke the school record in a time of 3:17.39 on their way to brining a Penn Relays wheel back to Bloomington. The senior was also part of the 4x100m relay squad that advanced to the Championship of America final. They went on to place eighth with a time of 40.92.
Individually, Brathwaite won the 100m championship on Saturday's portion of the meet. This was his first time capturing gold at the relays as he crossed in a time of 10.28.
The Hoosiers will be back in action this Friday, May 6, as they host the Billy Hayes Invite. The final meet of the regular season commences at 1 p.m. at the Haugh Track & Field Complex.
