Hoosiers Shut Out Cornhuskers, Open Series with 5-0 Victory

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – For the sixth time this season Indiana recorded a shut out as they won 5-0 against Nebraska on Friday.
Key Moments
• In the first inning Taylor Minnick hit a pop up over the second baseman's head for a base hit to score two runs for the Hoosiers.
• Indiana worked out of trouble in the bottom half of the first. Nebraska put runners on first and second with no outs, but Indiana did not allow a Cornhusker run.
• Taylor Minnick continued her productivity for the Hoosiers in the fifth inning with a two-run blast to right field to put Indiana up 4-0.
• The Hoosiers retired the Cornhuskers three up, three down in the second, third and fourth for nine straight outs.
• In the bottom of the sixth Nebraska had runners on first and second with no outs. Heather Johnson fielded a grounder threw to Radcliffe at third, who threw to Copeland at first to complete a double play.
• Aaliyah Andrews doubled down the line in the seventh to increase the Indiana lead to 5-0.

• Indiana improves to 27-19 overall and 10-11 in the Big Ten. Nebraska drops to 35-14 overall and 15-5 in the Big Ten.
• The home run for Taylor Minnick was her fifth of the season and the Hoosiers 55th home run this season.
• Minnick went 3-for-3 for the game with a walk and four RBI.
• Heather Johnson pitched a complete game shut out for her 10th win of the season
• Indiana recorded three stolen bases to increase their season total to 109. Tatum Hayes recorded her 28th stolen base of the season.
