
Hoosiers End Regular Season With Eight Wins at Billy Hayes Invite

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana Track & Field wrapped up the regular season at home on Friday night with the Billy Hayes Invite.
KEY MOMENTS
• Kyle Mau won the 1500m fast section with a season best of 3:43.72. Gabriel Sanchez came in fourth with a time of 3:48.67.
• Shaton Vaughn saw a season best in the 400m hurdles as he clocked a time of 52.03 to capture the victory. Micah Camble picked up third place and a time of 53.45.
• Shynae Deas ran a time of 2:14.69 to win the women's 800m.
• Olivia Gee advanced to the final of the 100m and finished in fourth with a time of 12.60.
• Sean Mockler was the first Hoosiers to compete as he won the hammer throw with a mark of 67.87m (222' 8").
• Paola Fernandez-Sola won the women's long jump after leaping a mark of 6.02m (19' 9").
• Mahogany Jenkins kept the winning ball rolling in the high jump, clearing a height of 1.78m (5' 10"). Hope Purcell made her season debut, placing third and clearing a height of 1.68m (5' 6").
• After having to move indoors, Nathan Stone won the men's pole vault competition with a clearance of 5.45m (17' 10.5"). Tyler Carrel came in third, clearing a height of 5.14m (16' 10.25")
• Maddy Pollard saw a season best in the discus with a throw of 51.62m (169' 4"). Pollard went on to win the event. Jayden Ulrich took silver with a mark of 47.34m (155' 3"). Makayla Hunter secured fourth with a throw of 47.34m (139' 4").
• On the men's side of the shot put, Adam Strouf took gold with a put of 17.89m (58' 8.5").
NOTABLES
• Camden Marshall picked up a personal record in the 800m fast section with a time of 1:48.57. He placed third overall.
• Makayla Hunter finished in the top-5 of both the shot put and discus. Hunter placed third in the shot put and fourth in the discus.
UP NEXT
The Hoosiers return to action next weekend in Minneapolis, Minn. for the 2022 Big Ten Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The meet is schedule for May 13-15.
