ROSEMONT, Ill. – Indiana women's basketball will face North Carolina in the 2022 ACC/Big Ten Challenge. The game will be played inside Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall on Dec. 1, 2022.
It will be the first meeting between the two schools in over three decades, as they have met twice before in program history. North Carolina leads the series 2-0 and have not met since the 1988-89 season. The matchup also marks the first ever meeting between the two teams in Bloomington. Indiana is 8-6 all-time in the annual conference series and are meeting UNC for the first time.
All-Americans and All-Big Ten selections Grace Berger and Mackenzie Holmes highlight IU's roster for the upcoming 2022-23 season, as it is coming off a Sweet Sixteen appearance last season. IU completed its seventh-straight 20-win season under then eighth year head coach Teri Moren. It welcomed seven new players in the offseason, including a trio of transfers and four freshmen.
The Tar Heels are coming off a 25-7 overall and 13-5 ACC campaign where it appeared in its first Sweet Sixteen since 2015. They return four of their starting five from last season including leading scorer and All-American honorable mention and first team All-ACC selection Deja Kelly.
