BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana Cross Country and Track and Field Head Coach Ron Helmer announced the addition of 15 athletes to the 2022-2023 men's track and field roster on Tuesday afternoon.
This group of athletes covers multiple event groups with a mix of high school competitors and collegiate transfers joining the Hoosiers for next season.
"This group of men comprising our 2022-2023 recruiting class brings with it an extreme level of optimism," Helmer said. "The group includes NCAA competitive transfers, several freshmen who will quickly join this group and a very impressive group of enthusiastic walk-on athletes ready to do their part."
The Sprints and Hurdles group will be bolstered by the addition of IHSAA State Champions Ray Brodie (100m) of Evansville Reitz and John Colquitt (110mH) of Brownsburg.
Christopher Grant will also join the sprints team with the Hoosiers. A native of Kingston, Jamaica, Grant was the 2021 SEC Indoor Runner-up across 60 meters for Auburn. He owns personal bests of 6.64 (60m) and 10.32 (100m) during his collegiate career.

He has also provided legs in the 4x400 relay during his previous stops. Aiden Hamilton (Evansville, Ind.) and Reece Carroll (Owensboro, Ky.) make up the rest of the additions to the sprints.
The jumps squad is bolstered by the addition of three athletes across three events. Robert Blue, a transfer from Albany, competes in both the Long Jump and Triple Jump with personal bests of 7.57m/24-10 and 16.00m/52-6 respectively.

Noah Koch is a welcomed addition to the throws squad where he provides an element of versatility to the strong Indiana team. He owns personal bests from his time at Ashland of 17.97m/58-11 (Shot Put), 58.03m/190-5 (Discus) and 20.45/67-1 (Weight Throw). Koch was 8th in the Discus Throw at the Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships back in May.
Six athletes join to run in the middle and long-distance events. Abe Eckman (Jasper, Ind.), Andrew Mangum (Newburgh, Ind.), Cole Raymond (LaPorte, Ind.) and Keefer Soehngen (Fishers, Ind.) all placed in their respective events at the 2022 IHSAA Track and Field State Championships.
