BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana Volleyball head coach Steve Aird named Paula Cerame, Emily Fitzner and Camryn Haworth as captains for the 2022 season, as announced on Thursday afternoon.
The three athletes return a combined eight years of college volleyball experience heading into the 2022 season and have provided leadership to the program on and off the court.
Cerame took over responsibilities as the starting libero in 2021. She recorded 492 digs during her opening campaign in Bloomington, the third-most in a single season in program history.
She played in all 32 matches for the Hoosiers, instantly gaining an important role inside the IU lineup.
Fitzner enters her fourth season in Bloomington with 78 games under her belt in her college career. She has 937 assists in her career and has played in 246 sets during her time at IU.
She, along with defensive specialist Haley Armstrong and outside hitter Ashley Zulauf, enter their fourth year with the program.
Haworth, just a sophomore, carved out a very important role during her freshman campaign with the Hoosiers.
She tallied 504 assists and provided 42 services aces for the Hoosiers.
Haworth, alongside Cerame, served as IU's representatives at the inaugural Big Ten Volleyball Media Days at the BTN Studios in Chicago.
IU opens their season on Friday night against Indiana State as part of the four-team Indiana Invitational. The Hoosiers will also play matches against Chicago State and Jacksonville State on Saturday.
