Indiana at Cincinnati
September 24, 2022
TEAM
• Indiana is 9-5-2 all-time against Cincinnati, with the first meeting coming in 1896. IU owns a 3-2-1 mark in games played in Cincinnati, and the first trip to the Queen City since 1998 (W, 48-14).
• The Hoosiers have scored at least 20 points in 46 consecutive games against non-conference opponents, the longest streak in the FBS. Oklahoma is next closest at 25 games.
• Indiana's captains were AJ Barner, Devon Matthews, Tiawan Mullen and Jack Tuttle.
• Cincinnati won the coin toss and deferred to the second half. Indiana received the opening kickoff.
• With Matt Hohlt's start at linebacker, 10 student-athletes have made their first career starts at Indiana. The list includes quarterback Connor Bazelak, wide receiver Cam Camper, wide receiver Andison Coby, offensive lineman Parker Hanna, outside linebacker Myles Jackson, outside linebacker Dasan McCullough, offensive lineman Caleb Murphy, defensive lineman Beau Robbins and running back Shaun Shivers.
• The 16-play scoring drive in the first quarter is the longest for Indiana this season and the longest since an 18-play drive versus Idaho in 2021.
• In the second half, Indiana's defense only allowed seven points and 71 yards of total offense.
• Indiana set a school record for plays in a game at 104. The previous record was 101 (Louisville, 1985; Iowa, 2005).
• WIth running backs Josh Henderson and Shaun Shivers each catching touchdown passes, it marked the first time since 2001 versus Northwestern that a pair of IU running backs hauled in receiving touchdowns in the same game. Jeremi Johnson and Levron Williams each caught scoring passes versus the Wildcats.
