Indiana Field Hockey Finishes a 3-0 Weekend in California

DAVIS, Calif. ––– The Indiana Field Hockey team put together its most dominant performance of the season, closing out strong with a 2-0 win at UC Davis on Monday afternoon.
The win marks three wins in a row for the team, and a 3-0 weekend for their California trip with previous wins over Stanford and California in the days prior. The Hoosiers are now 3-2 on the season.
KEY MOMENTS
• The Hoosiers struck early with a goal at the eighth minute, off a penalty corner. Freshman Anna Mozeleski scored for the Hoosiers and was assisted by sophomore Sofia Arrebola Garcia and freshman Kylie Dawson.
• Sophomore Arabella Loveridge made a key save in goal at 25' to prevent UC Davis from equalizing and keeping the Hoosiers with a 1-0 lead at the half.
• When UC Davis had another opportunity to tie the game, this time late in the third period, redshirt junior Sydney Keld was there for a defensive save and helped Indiana hold the lead.
• With just five minutes left in the fourth period, sophomore Kayla Kiwak put the game to rest with a goal to give Indiana some insurance, and a 2-0 lead. Junior Jemima Cookson assisted on the play.
NOTABLES
• Mozeleski scored her second goal in as many days as just the game prior, she scored the game winner at California on penalty stroke in overtime.
• Loveridge earned her first clean sheet of the season, she had six saves against the Aggies today.
• Kiwak scored her first goal of the season and her third of her career.
• Cookson's assist was the latest showing of a really strong weekend of play. Cookson now has five points to her name in five games for 2022.
• Arrebola Garcia's assist today marked her first point of the season.
• Dawson's assist on the Mozeleski goal was her first recorded collegiate assist and point.
• Senior midfielder Kennedy Reardon made her 40th consecutive start, dating back to her sophomore season.

• IU will head back to Bloomington for a pair of home games next weekend. The Hoosiers will host Ball State on Friday at 3:00 p.m. and a Sunday game vs. Bellarmine at 4:00 p.m.
