Indiana Wrestling Adds Kaminski and Spangler to Roster

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. ––––– Indiana Wrestling head coach Angel Escobedo has announced the signing of two new student-athletes for the upcoming season.
The Hoosiers have added Michael Spangler and Jacob Kaminski to the team.
Spangler is a Wichita, Kan. native and transfer from Lock Haven, by way of Pratt Community College. While at Pratt, he was a two-time national champion at 125 lbs. in the NJCAA Wrestling Championships in 2020 and 2021.
In 2021, his performance helped Pratt earn fourth place at the NJCAA Championships. He was 63-6 in his two years there. Spangler will be a redshirt junior this upcoming season.
Kaminski enters his freshman season with the Hoosiers in the 285 lbs. weight class. As a native of Riverside, Illinois, he won a 2018 Illinois High School State Title at 195 lbs. in 2018, before attending Wyoming Seminary College Preparatory School in Pennsylvania.
While at Wyoming Seminary, Kaminski was a two-time prep national runner-up as a heavyweight. Kaminski is teammates once again with fellow Indiana freshman Daniel Sheen after wrestling together at Wyoming Seminary.
The freshman also earned a bronze medal in the 2018 World Championships' Greco-Roman division as a U.S. Cadet World representative at 92 kg.
With the additions of Spangler and Kaminski, the roster now features two new transfers and 12 total freshmen.
