BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — The United States Men's National Team (USMNT) is kicking off the 2026 FIFA World Cup cycle with a pair of Hoosiers.
Former Indiana men's soccer student-athletes Roman Celentano and Aidan Morris received their USMNT senior call-ups on Wednesday (Jan. 18), the U.S. Soccer Federation announced.
The duo will join 24 total players participating in January training camp with the USMNT beginning January 21 as the federation begins preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The slate will include friendlies against Serbia on January 25 and Colombia on January 28. Celentano and Morris, both under 23 years of age, have yet to earn their first senior team caps.
Celentano completed his rookie season in 2022 with FC Cincinnati after took over the starting role and made 27 starts. A two-time Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Year at IU, Celentano helped lead FCC to the club's first MLS Cup Playoff appearance, in which he started the club's lone, first-round match.
Morris is set to begin his fourth season with Columbus Crew in February after signing a homegrown contract with the club following his 2019 freshman season in Bloomington. Morris also appeared in 27 matches for his club last season. In October, Morris was called-up to the United States U-20 Men's Youth National Team training camp.
Eighteen Hoosiers have earned caps for the USMNT, most recently Lee Nguyen in 2016.
