Former Hoosier Set to Race in Pan Am Games

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Former distance runner Daniel Michalski will represent the United States at the Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile, on Nov. 4, in the 3000m steeplechase.
He was close to an Olympic berth in 2021 where He placed fourth at trials in 2021, almost earning an Olympic berth. He also set a personal best time of 8:20.96.
A 2019 graduate transfer, Michalski made an impact in his first season with the Hoosiers by making the NCAA National Championships roster placing seventh in the nation and earned a Big Ten silver medal.
Prior to Indiana, he competed at Cedarville University where he was named the 2017 NCAA Division II Outdoor National Champion in the steeplechase his junior year. Michalski won with a school-record time of 8:44.49. He was also Cedarville's first NCAA men's national champion.
