BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Senior guard Sara Scalia and graduate forward Mackenzie Holmes combined for 42 points as they outpaced Murray State, 112-79, in Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall on Friday evening.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Hoosiers (2-1) started out with a pair of buckets before going on a 10-0 run to force a Racer's timeout with 6:12 left to play. Senior guard Sydney Parrish and Scalia led the run with five points each.
- IU continued the run out of timeout with Holmes and Scalia each knocking down a pair of free throws and another bucket from Holmes. Indiana would hold a 27-12 lead heading into the second quarter shooting 50 percent from the field.
- Murray State (1-2 got hot as they cut the lead with an 8-0 run to start the second, but Scalia and senior Chloe Moore-McNeil would connect on back-to-back three pointers for a quick 6-0 run to expand the lead, 37-23.
- The Hoosiers continued to push the pace shooting 50 percent from the arc and from the field and 80 percent from the line as they closed out the half with a 52-35 lead.
- Scalia led all scorers with 20 points after knocking down two buckets to start the third. Indiana continued to outwork the Racers taking full advantage at the charity line making 12-of-13 attempts (92.3 percent) as they outscored Murray State 33-28 in the third, 85-63.
- IU went on a 15-2 run with 2:56 left in the game. They would lead as much as 36 in the 112-79 win over Murray State.
NOTABLE
- First 100+ game since it scored 115 vs. Gardner Webb in Teri Moren's debut on Nov. 15, 2014. It was the first 100 points scored in a game since it hit the century mark (100) against Eastern Kentucky in 2021-22.
- Five players scored in double figures behind Scalia's 22 points. Holmes (20), Moore-McNeil and Garzon (14 each) and Bargesser (12) all had double digits.
- The Hoosiers shot 53.8 percent in the win,
- Holmes recorded her 21st career double-double and the first for an IU player this season as she scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
- Indiana improved to 3-0 in the series with Murray State.
- Freshman guard Julianna LaMendola scored her first points as a Hoosier in the win.
- The Hoosiers dished out 24 assists on 42 made shots led by five dimes from Moore-McNeil.
- IU also outrebounded the Racers, 49-34, including a 13-7 edge on the offensive glass.
