Nov. 3, 2023
• Indiana defeated Marian by a score of 94-61 in the final exhibition game of the preseason on Friday night in Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.
• The Hoosiers improve to 3-0 all time versus the Knights. The last meeting came on Oct. 29, 2022, when IU topped MU, 78-42, in an exhibition.
• Indiana is 31-0 in exhibition games versus non-Division I opponents since 2004-05.
• Indiana shot 32-61 (52.5%) from the field, 9-17 (52.9%) from the 3-point line, and 21-25 (84.0%) from the free throw line.
• The Hoosier defense held Marian to 32.3% shooting while forcing 15 turnovers. IU turned the extra possessions into 22 points.
• Indiana committed just two turnovers with one coming in each half.
• Indiana outscored Marian 27-0 in fast break points.
• Indiana opened the second half on a 21-6 scoring run and finished the half outscoring Marian 45-26.
• IU will host Florida Golf Coast to open the 2023-24 regular season at 6:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Nov. 7 in Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. The game will broadcast on BTN.
• Sophomore center Kel'el Ware lead the team in scoring with 20 points. He hit 8-of-13 shots from the floor and 1-of-2 from deep. The Oregon transfer notched a double-double with 11 rebounds and recorded one block.
• Freshman forward Mackenzie Mgbako scored 15 points on 5-of-8 shooting and 3-of-4 from 3-point range. He also added three rebounds, one assist, two steals, and one block.
• Sophomore forward Malik Reneau led the team with 12 points at the halftime break. He finished with 14 points, five rebounds, and two assists.
• Sophomore forward Kaleb Banks scored 12 points on 3-of-8 shooting from the floor, 2-of-4 from behind the arc, and 4-of-5 from the line.
• Sophomore guard CJ Gunn scored 11 points on 4-of-9 shooting. He also recorded one rebound, one assist, and one steal.
• Sixth-year senior guard Xavier Johnson recorded eight points, seven assists, and three steals.
• Fifth-year senior forward Anthony Walker was 3-of-6 from the field and recorded eight points, six rebounds, and two blocks off the bench.
• Freshman guard Gabe Cupps scored two points to go along with six assists and two steals.
• Senior guard Trey Galloway scored four points while adding six assists, two rebounds, and one steal.
• Senior guard Anthony Leal had two rebounds and one assist in six minutes of action.
