Opening Tip
• Indiana University continues Big Ten play during its 124th season of competition in men's basketball with a Tuesday night showdown at Michigan. Tip is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET on Dec. 5 at the Crisler Center on Peacock.
• After beginning the season 3-0, the Wolverines have dropped four of the last five games on the schedule to fall to 4-4. U of M finished 1-2 in the Battle 4 Atlantis, an event the Hoosiers will participate in to open the 2024-25 season.
• Sophomore guard Dug McDaniel leads Michigan in scoring at 20.3 points per game, tied for the third-highest figure in the Big Ten. Fifth-year senior forward Olivier Nkamhoua provides 16.9 points and 7.0 rebounds per outing.
• Michigan makes 9.5 3-pointers per game on 38.2% shooting from behind the arc.

• The Hoosiers have earned three-straight victories over the Wolverines, including a two-game sweep a season ago. The three wins have come by a combined eight points.
• Trayce Jackson-Davis and Race Thompson combined for 43 points, 19 rebounds, and six steals in a 75-73 (OT) win on Indiana's Senior Day on March 5, 2023.
• IU escaped with a 62-61 victory in its last trip to the Crisler Center on Feb. 11, 2023. The win marked the first for the Hoosiers in Ann Arbor since Feb. 2, 2016. Jackson-Davis tallied 28 points, 11 rebounds, while Jalen Hood-Schifino had 21 points, five assists, and four rebounds.

• Indiana used a big first half to defeat Maryland, 65-53, to open the Big Ten slate at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall on Dec. 1.
• Four Hoosiers, led by sophomore center Kel'el Ware, posted double figures in the scoring column. Ware produced a team-best 18 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the floor to go along with a career-high 14 rebounds.
• Freshman forward Mackenzie Mgbako recorded 13 points, seven rebounds, three assist, and one steal. Over the last two games, the highly touted recruit is averaging 16.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game.
• Senior guard Trey Galloway (12 points) and sophomore forward Malik Reneau (11) rounded out the scoring output. Galloway added career marks in rebounds (6) and assists (6).

Big Man Transformation
• Sophomore center Kel'el Ware, a transfer from Oregon, has upped his scoring (from 6.6 points to 17.7), rebounds (4.1 to 9.6), assists (0.5 to 1.9), blocks (1.3 to 1.6), and field goal percentage (45.7% to 64.4%) in his second season. He leads the Hoosiers in points per game, rebounds, and blocks in 32 minutes per game.
• Ware has scored at least 10 points in all seven games this season after producing just eight such games as a rookie. In his last two outings, the 7-footer has averaged 23.0 points and 11.0 rebounds on 80.0% (20-of-25) shooting from the floor.
• Ware tallied a career-high 28 points on 12-of-13 shooting from the floor in an 89-76 win over Harvard (Nov. 26) in Indianapolis. The 92.3% shooting split marked the highest by a Hoosier with at least 10 made field goals this century.
Sophomore Jump for Reneau
• Sophomore forward Malik Reneau has posted double digits in the scoring column in all seven games this season, including five efforts of at least 14 points. He notched a career-high 18 points against No. 5/4 UConn (Nov. 19).
• The Miami, Fla., native scored in double figures in seven games during his freshman campaign, while hitting 14 points or more just twice.
• Reneau is averaging 14.7 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.1 blocks in 27 minutes per game.
Paint Production
• Indiana averages 39.4 points per game in the paint and shoots 58.1% (162-of-279) from inside the arc. The Hoosiers hold opponents to 25.1 points per night in the key.
• IU scored a season-best 56 points in the paint against Wright State (Nov. 16). The Hoosiers also tallied 50 paint points against Harvard (Nov. 26).
IU Never Trailed in Win over Maryland
• The Hoosiers scored 20 seconds into the game and never looked back in a 65-53 victory over the Maryland Terrapins (Dec. 1) in the Big Ten opener at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.
• Indiana, led by a career-high 14 rebounds from sophomore center Kel'el Ware, outrebounded Maryland by a count of 46-30. IU pulled down 15 offensive rebounds. Four of Indiana's five starters posted at least 10 points and five rebounds.
