LA JOLLA, Calif. – No. 13 Indiana battled host No. 18 UC San Diego in a win for seventh place at the 2023 Triton Invite where it won 6-5.

KEY MOMENTS
- IU got on the board first and held a 3-2 advantage after the first quarter on a goals from Sophomore Sophia Sollie, freshman Grace Klinger and senior Lanna Debow.
- Sophomore Skylar Kidd added to the lead with 5:30 left in the second and Kidd tacked on one more with 44 seconds on the clock as it led 5-3.
- Despite just scoring one goal in the second half, Indiana's early offense was able to hold on as UCSD got a late goal in the fourth quarter to pull within one.
NOTES
- Indiana improves to 8-5, 0-1 MPSF on the season.
- Kidd led the way with two goals. Four other Hoosiers scored including freshman Grace Hathaway.
- Indiana went 3-1 in sprints.
- The Hoosiers had five assists on six made goals.
- Senior goalie Mary Askew recorded 20 saves in goal.
