
No. 19 Indiana Comes Up Short In Battle With No. 9 UC Davis

DAVIS, Calif. – No. 19 Indiana had chances late in the game as it came up just short to No. 9 UC Davis, 8-7, on Thursday night in a non-conference battle at Schaal Aquatics Center.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Hoosiers got off to a 3-0 deficit midway through the first quarter but battled back thanks to a pair of goals from senior Robyn Greenslade. Sophomore Skylar Kidd found sophomore Grace Hathaway on a power play with 14 seconds left in the first as it ended the first period in a tie.
- But nothing was working for IU in the second, as UC Davis added a pair of goals to go up 5-3 at the half.
- Greenslade completed her hat trick in the third while freshman Louisa Downes pitched in the equalizer as the game was tied at 6-all going into the final eight minutes of play.
- Back-to-back goals for the Aggies started off the fourth quarter to make it an 8-6 deficit for IU. Senior Zoe Crouch would put one up on the board with a five-meter goal with 3:32 left to play. On the next possession, the Hoosiers got the steal and got a great look from sophomore Sophia Sollie but didn't convert.
- Indiana had chances late in the frame as graduate student goal Mary Askew just missed left and hit off the post with two seconds left in an attempt to send the game to extra minutes.
NOTES
- Greenslade led IU with three goals while Hathaway added two goals.
- In addition to a goal, Downes added a team-high two assists.
- Four players had steals in the effort.
- The Hoosiers fired off 39 shots in the game.
- Indiana is now 13-9 overall on the season.
