LAS VEGAS, NV. – Indiana women's tennis (10-5) defeated the UNLV Rebels, 4-3, at the Fertitta Tennis Complex on Friday afternoon.
UNLV clinched the doubles point winning on courts two and three.
However, the Hoosiers would get hot winning four straight singles matches to seal the win.
Freshman Nicole Teodosescu won the No. 5 singles in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0. Redshirt-junior Mila Mejic would put Indiana up, 2-1, with a 6-2, 6-4 win in the No. 3 singles.
Redshirt-junior Rose Hu dominated in two sets, 6-2, 6-2 to extend the lead with Lara Schneider earning IU the fourth point for the win at No. 1 singles. She won the match, 6-0, 2-6, 7-5.
NOTABLES
• Schneider extends her win streak to eight matches for a 10-2 record on the season.
• Teodosescu is 5-3 on the season and is on a win streak of three.
• Mejic also extended her win streak to three with a singles record of 10-5.
