• No. 4 Indiana (23-11) defeated No. 13 Kent State (28-7) on Friday night, 71-60, at MVP Arena in Albany, N.Y.
• Indiana will face No. 5 Miami in the Second Round on March 19 at MVP Arena in Albany, N.Y. Tipoff is scheduled for approximately at 8:40 p.m. on TNT. The winner will advance to the NCAA Midwest Region semifinals, which begin FMarch 24 in Kansas City, Mo.
• Indiana advanced to the Round of 32 for the first time since 2016.
• Indiana shot 46.8% (29-of-62) from the field. The Hoosiers 29 made field goals marked the most by a Kent State opponent this season.
• Indiana's defense forced Kent State to shoot 31.9% (22-of-69) from the field. That was the fifth best defensive effort in the 32 NCAA Tournament games in the first round.
• Indiana scored 46 points in the paint.
• Indiana led for 37:23 of the game.
• Indiana scored 16 points on fastbreak opportunities.
• Senior Trayce Jackson-Davis had 24 points on 10-of-17 shooting, 11 rebounds, five assists, and five blocks.
• Jackson-Davis is the only player to record a 20-10-5-5 game in the NCAA Tournament since blocks became an official stat during the 1985-86 season.
• It was Jackson-Davis' 50th career double-double, the third most in program history.
