Indiana Women’s Tennis Drops Match Against Wildcats, 5-2

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana women's tennis (8-4) opened conference play with a loss to Northwestern (5-7) at the IU Tennis Center.
Northwestern win the doubles point and picked up two quick points to extend their lead to three.
Redshirt-junior Alexandra Staiculescu dropped straight sets on the No. 3 court, 6-0, 6-3. Graduate Lauren Lemonds dropped straight sets on the No. 6 court, 6-1, 6-0, as the Wildcats earn a 3-0 lead.
Redshirt-sophomore Lara Schneider put the Hoosiers on the board with a dominate win on the No. 1 court, 6-1, 6-3. Graduate Saby Nihalani followed suit, giving the Hoosiers their second point of the match with a 6-3, 6-4, victory on the No. 2 court.
Mila Mejic went three sets, but dropped the match on the No. 4 court, 7-5, 2-6, 1-6, giving the Wildcats their fourth point of the match.
Nicole Teodosescu fought hard in the No. 5 singles as she went to a third set tiebreak, 2-6, 6-3, 6-7 (1-7).
