IU will split between three meets this weekend with athletes heading to the Louisville Invitational, Bryan Clay Invitational and the Mt. Sac Relays.
Â
IU ATHLETES AND WEEKEND RECAP
IU had its first split weekend of the outdoor season, sending athletes to the Tennessee Invite in Knoxville and the Triton Invitational in San Diego.

Â
Makayla Hunter had a pair of personal bests in the javelin (48.36m/158-8) and the shot put (15.07m/49-5.5).

Â
BIG TEN EVENTS TO WATCH
Women's High Jump
This was a very tight contest indoors and expects to be the same outdoors this season. Three women have cleared 1.80m/5-10.75 or better while eight athletes have been over the bar at 1.75m/5-8.75 or better including Indiana's Mahogany Jenkins.
Â
An event that often comes back to tiebreakers including bars cleared and number of misses, the margin for error in the high jump is little to none. Five schools have athletes in the top-10 in the conference including Nebraska with five.
Â
Women's Long Jump
One of the deepest events on the women's side has perhaps gotten even better as the season transitioned outdoors. Five athletes have jumped 6.22m/20-5 or better and the threshold to make the top-10 in the conference rankings sits at 6.02m/19-9.
Â
IU's Paola Fernandez-Sola owns the second-best mark in the conference with a jump of 6.49m/21-3.5 at the Tennessee Invite. Her mark was leading the Big Ten until Illinois' Tacoria Humphrey landed a jump of 6.55m/21-6 a day later.
Â
Men's 1500 Meters
One of the most strategic events in the entire sport will be hotly contested at this year's Big Ten Outdoor Championships. Four athletes have already run under 3:42 including IU's Camden Marshall who leads the nation with his blistering 3:39.51 from the Pepsi Florida Relays.
Â
Dustin Horter is also among the top-10 after running 3:43.46 in Florida. The duo of runners will join Jake Gebhardt in the 1500 meters at the Bryan Clay Invitational this weekend.
