AZUSA, Calif. - Maddie Dalton moved into sole possession of No. 7 all-time in program history in the 1500 meters on Saturday (April 15) evening at the Bryan Clay Invitational.
A personal best mark of 4:18.00 bettered her lifetime mark of 4:18.26 run two weeks ago at the Pepsi Florida Relays, breaking a tie with Jenean Sorrells (1990) on the program's all-time chart.
Jenna Barker ran a personal best in the 1500 meters for the second-consecutive outing, stopping the clock in 4:20.22.
The duo opened their outdoor season running 5K's at the Raleigh Relays before transitioning back to their primary event, the 1500 meters, to the tune of consecutive, strong performances for the Hoosiers.
Camden Marshall (3:41.45), Jake Gebhardt (3:46.17) and Dustin Horter (3:47.42) all ran the 1500 meters in California as well.
Dalton became the seventh Hoosier this weekend to improve on an existing top-10 program mark or add their name to the school's all-time list.
Sarah Schmitt (5000 meters), Antonio Laidler (100 meters), Christopher Grant (100 meters), Alyssa Robinson (100 meters), Jessica Mercier (pole vault) and Serena Bolden (triple jump) all etched their names further in the IU record books over the course of the weekend.
