Hoosiers Defeat Penn in Penalty Shootout

EVANSTON, Ill. ––– Indiana Field Hockey knocked off Penn, 2-1, in a penalty shootout on Saturday afternoon.
After a scoreless second half and two overtime periods, the Hoosiers found their way to a win with a 2-0 differential in penalty shootouts.
With the win over Penn, Indiana improves their season record to 3-4.
This was the Hoosiers first time this season playing in double overtime, and the first penalty shootout since 2012.
KEY MOMENTS
• Junior defender Yip Van Wonderen scored the first goal of the game in the 14th minute. Jemima Cookson had the assist.
• Penn tied the game at 1-1 mideway through the second quarter.
• Junior goalkeeper Arabella Loveridge made a save on a Penn penalty stroke at the end of the third quarter to keep it a 1-1 game.
• Redshirt junior Sydney Keld and sophomore Anna Mozeleski both converted on their two shots in penalties.
• Redshirt junior goalie Shannon McNally was able to hold Penn scoreless during their penalty strokes.
NOTABLES
• Yip van Wonderen's goal marked her second of the season and the fourth in her IU career.
• Indiana played in their first penalty shootout since 2012.
