BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana junior setter Camryn Haworth, an all-Big Ten selection in 2022, has proven to be one of the most versatile players in program history since taking over the reigns as the team's starting setter last season.
A native of Fishers, Ind. and a product of the illustrious Munciana Volleyball Club, Haworth came to Bloomington without setting or serving at the club level. She won an AAU 18U National Championship before arriving on campus in 2021 but is starting to find her footing as she develops her volleyball IQ and setting skills.
Haworth became just the 19th player in program history with 100+ aces in her IU career after back-to-back incredible serves against Long Beach State on August 31st, 2023. She then passed the 2,000-career assist mark against Jacksonville on September 16th.
She broke the program's rally-era aces record on September 30th vs. No. 2 Nebraska with her 131st and 132nd career ace, breaking Taylor Lebo's previous record of 130. The all-time program record, regardless of scoring system, was produced by Jen Magelssen (197) from 1995-98.
Haworth is currently No. 2 all-time in program history with 164 aces. She added three service aces in the same run of serve at Maryland on October 7th enroute to a straight-sets sweep and then three more in the third set on the way to beating Purdue for the first time since 2012. She tallied six at Michigan State in November
In the rally-scoring era, in place since 2001, Haworth is tied for 8th all-time among Big Ten players in service aces with 164. Only three Big Ten players, under the current scoring format, have ever recorded 200 career service aces. Among Big Ten players in the rally era, her 73 aces is tied-9th best in a single season
If not impressive enough, Haworth has career marks of 2,862 assists, 706 digs and 164 aces, making her just the fourth player in program history with 2000+ assists, 500+ digs and 100+ aces.
She is No. 8 all-time in assists at IU as one of just 11 players to cross the 2,000-assist threshold as a Hoosier. The rally-era record was set by Megan Tallman (3,711, 2013-16) with Michelle McElroy (4,294, 1991-95) holding the mark as the program's all-time assists leader.
Under the current rally-era scoring system (in place since 2008), Haworth has recorded three of the five best single-season ace marks with 49 in 2022, 42 in 2021 and 73 in 2023. She broke the program's single-season rally-era record with three aces vs. Ohio State.
She became just the second player in program history, and the first since Karen Dunham in 1987, to record over 2,000 career assists (2,862), 500 digs (706), 200 kills (274), 125 aces (164) and 100 blocks (124).
Haworth notched the second and third triple-doubles of her career in matches at Illinois (50 assists, 13 kills, 10 digs) and Northwestern (50 assists, 10 kills, 10 digs). She is the first player in program history with a triple-double in back-to-back games.
IU tallied its best 20-game start in a season (14-6) since the 2010 campaign behind the leadership of Haworth and others like senior middle blocker Savannah Kjolhede and freshman libero Ramsey Gary. The Hoosiers' 21 wins in 2023 matched a program regular season record.
