No. 16/17 Indiana Drops Contest at Ohio State, 2-1

COLUMBUS, Ohio – No. 16/17 Indiana dropped their first game of the season after battling Ohio State to a 2-1 decision at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium Thursday evening.
KEY MOMENTS
• Indiana (9-1-2, 3-1 B1G) saw their first chance to get on the board early with a shot by junior defender Lauren Costello in the seventh minute. Her attempt was high as it hit off the corner of the cross bar.
• The teams continued to battle it out before Ohio State (6-3-2, 2-1-1) struck first in the 22nd minute on a dangerous cross in the goalie box.
• In the 33rd minute, sophomore forward Marisa Grzesiak had an open look as she dribbled past two defenders, but the Buckeyes keeper would make the grab.
• Ohio State found the net again on another cross in the box in the 37th minute to take a 2-0 lead.
• The Hoosiers had another chance in the 55th minute on a header from freshman defender Piper Coffield, but the keeper tipped it out for the save.
• Senior defender Zoe Tiger put the Hoosiers on the board in the 80th minute with a header off an Indiana corner kick from freshman midfielder Elle Britt.
