BLOOMINGTON, Ind. ––––– Indiana Wrestling head coach Angel Escobedo has announced the signing of the team's latest addition -––– Brayton Lee.
Lee will use his final year of eligibility as a Hoosier after spending five seasons at Minnesota from 2018-2023.
With Lee's transfer to IU, he will return to his home state. The Brownsburg, Ind. native was a three-time Indiana State Champion at Brownsburg High School and was a 2018 Junior Fargo National Champion.
In his collegiate career, Lee was a consistent presence in the Minnesota lineup at 149 and 157 lbs. in his time in Minneapolis.
Lee owns a career record of 59-23, including a redshirt sophomore season that saw him claim All-American status in 2021 when he got sixth at 157 lbs. In that 2021 run, he went 4-3 at NCAAs and his only losses came to the top-three seeds in the field.
In that same season, he got third at the Big Ten Championships.
In his redshirt freshman year, Lee logged a 25-6 record in his first season in the Minnesota lineup. He placed fourth at Big Tens and was a national qualifier prior to the NCAA Championships being canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2022-2023, Lee battled injuries limiting him to just 13 matches and ending his season early at the Big Ten Championships. He began the season ranked as the No. 2 overall wrestler at 157 lbs. by InterMat.
