• Indiana University continues its 124th season of competition in men's basketball with the first of a two-game homestand against Minnesota at 6:30 p.m. ET on Friday, Jan. 12. The game will be televised on FS1.
• The Golden Gophers (12-3, 3-1) have won seven-straight games, including league wins over Nebraska (76-65), at Michigan (73-71), and Maryland (65-62).
• The Gophers are led by 16.7 points and 7.5 rebounds per game from junior forward Dawson Garcia. • Indiana holds a series advantage of 107-69 over Minnesota in a rivalry that began in 1912. The Hoosiers have won eight of the last nine matchups with the Gophers, including six-straight victories. IU has claimed each of the last seven games played in Bloomington.
• The two sides met just once last season and Indiana emerged triumphant by a score of 61-57 on Jan. 25, 2023, under the guidance of associate head coach Yasir Rosemond. • Sophomore center Kel'el Ware, a transfer from Oregon, has upped his scoring (from 6.6 points to 14.7), rebounds (4.1 to 9.3), assists (0.5 to 1.7), and field goal percentage (45.7% to 55.7%) in his second season. He leads the Hoosiers in rebounds and blocks in 31 minutes per game.
• Ware has scored at least 10 points in 13 games this year after producing just eight such games as a rookie. The 7-footer has ripped down at least 10 boards six times this season, including a career-high 17 at Rutgers (Jan. 9).
• Ware tallied a career-high 28 points on 12-of-13 shooting from the floor in an 89-76 win over Harvard (Nov. 26) in Indianapolis. The 92.3% shooting split marked the highest by a Hoosier with at least 10 made field goals this century.
Mack Attack
• Freshman forward Mackenzie Mgbako has made a team-high 20 3-pointers this season, including 16 over his past eight games. During the eight-game stretch he is shooting 16-of-41 (39.0%) from behind the arc.
• The consensus top-10 recruit is averaging 9.6 points and 3.9 rebounds per contest and has reached double figures in the scoring column in 11 of the last 13 games.

• The Indiana starting frontcourt of freshman forward Mackenzie Mgbako, sophomore forward Malik Reneau, and sophomore center Kel'el Ware combined to score 39 points on 15-of-31 shooting from the floor. The trio added 28 rebounds, nine assists, and three blocks in a 66-57 loss at Rutgers on Jan. 9.
• IU held Rutgers to 21-of-65 (32.3%) shooting from the floor and 5-of-22 (22.7%) from the 3-point line while forcing 15 turnovers.
Hoosiers Beat Buckeyes in Bloomington
• Indiana dominated the painted area (40-24) in a 71-65 win over Ohio State on Jan. 6. Sophomore forward Malik Reneau led the way for the Hoosiers with 23 points and seven rebounds.
• Sixth-year senior guard Xavier Johnson posted 18 points, three rebounds, and three assists, while sophomore guard CJ Gunn added 10 points and a steal off the bench.
• The Hoosier defense held Ohio State to 7-of-27 (25.9%) shooting from the 3-point line. The Buckeyes entered the game making 8.5 3-pointers per game at a 38.0% clip.
