• Indiana (12-8, 4-5) lost to Illinois (15-5, 6-3), 70-62, on Saturday in Champaign, Ill.
• IU held Illinois over 12 points below their season scoring average of 82.7 points per night.
• Indiana held Illinois to 23-of-62 (37.1%) from the field and 7-of-23 (30.4%) from beyond the arc.
• Indiana shot 25-of-54 (46.3%) from the field and outscored Illinois 46-30 in points in the paint.
• Sophomore forward Malik Reneau scored 21 points on 8-of-12 shooting while adding seven rebounds and one assist in 34 minutes of action.
• The Miami, Fla., native has averaged 18.2 points per game on 57.1% (36-of-63) shooting from the floor in five road games this season.
• Sixth-year senior guard Xavier Johnson scored 14 points on 6-of-11 shooting and contributed four rebounds and two assists.
• Freshman forward Mackenzie Mgbako recorded his first career double-double with 12 points, a career high 12 rebounds (four offensive), and one block.
• Senior guard Trey Galloway scored eight points and added two rebounds and one assist in 36 minutes of play.
• Fifth-year senior forward Anthony Walker scored five points and added six rebounds, two assist, and one steal in his first start as a Hoosier. He logged a season-high 31 minutes of gametime.
• Senior guard Anthony Leal scored two points while contributing two rebounds, one assist, and one block in 16 minutes of action.
• Freshman guard Gabe Cupps recorded one assist and one steal in 10 minutes of play.
• Junior forward Peyton Sparks checked in for two minutes of run.
