Rourke, Kamara Added to Midseason Watch Lists

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Redshirt senior quarterback Kurtis Rourke and redshirt junior Mikail Kamara have been added to the midseason watchlist for the Maxwell Award and Bednarik Award, respectively, announced the Maxwell Football Club on Thursday (Oct. 17).
A two-time Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week, Rourke leads the nation in quarterback rating (192.1) and No. 3 in the FBS in completion percentage (.738). He sits tied for the conference lead in passing touchdowns (14) and is the first Indiana signal caller with at least three touchdown passes in each of his first three Big Ten contests since 1967.
Against Northwestern, Rourke posted the ninth-most passing yards by a Hoosier against a Big Ten opponent when he completed 25-of-33 passes for 380 yards and three touchdowns. He connected with eight different receivers in the game and found three different pass catchers for touchdowns.
Kamara is tied for the Big Ten lead in sacks (5.0) and his 0.83 sacks per game sits No. 14 in the FBS after seven weeks. Among the FBS active leaders, Kamara owns the top mark in career sacks (16) and is No. 2 among active defenders with 1.13 tackles for loss per game.
Per Pro Football Focus, Kamara leads the Big Ten and ranks No. 2 in the Power 4 with 30 total pressures on the season. He has multiple tackles in each game this season – with at least one stop in all 29 career games – and has logged 1.0 tackles for loss or more in five of six games in 2024.
