Baseball’s Fresh Arrivals to Bloomington

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Head coach Jeff Mercer added his newest collection of prep talent to a deep core of returners ahead of the 2025 season. With fall practice officially in full swing, Perfect Game released its list of the "Top 500 Fresh Arrivals on Campus".
Six Hoosiers made the list, adding talent and depth to a skilled roster in Bloomington. Freshman left-handed pitcher Brayton Thomas was IU's highest ranked recruit to make it to campus. The native of Fort Wayne, Ind. got looks from professional organizations but opted for development at IU.
Catcher Hogan Denny (Mooresville, Ind.) and utility man Jake Hanley (Mason, Ohio) joined Thomas among the top-200 freshman prospects to make it to their respective colleges. Both Denny and Hanley figure to feature in the IU lineup at some point this season. Their raw power was on display in an early fall scrimmage against Louisville.
Infielders Grant Hollister (Blue Springs, Mo.) and Cooper Malamazian (Clarendon Hills, Ill.) joined left-handed pitcher Caleb Koskie (Excelsior, Minn.) in the top 400 of Perfect Game's list.
