BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – With players back on campus for fall practice, multiple outlets across the country have begun releasing early preseason content. Head coach Jeff Mercer, in his seventh season, has a talented returning core and a collection of new pieces from the prep ranks and transfer portal.

MLB Pipeline: Top 20 College Prospects
#5, Taylor, Devin
Devin Taylor, fresh off an All-American sophomore season, has seen his name predicted among the top of draft boards for next summer's 2025 MLB Draft. He smashed 20 home runs in 2024, following up on a freshman campaign where he hit 16.
MLB Pipeline listed him as the No. 5 college prospect to watch in next year's proceedings. The outlet described him as "one of the best all-around offensive performers in the college crop." Kyle Schwarber still holds the title as the program's highest-drafted player, a note that Taylor can challenge next summer.

D1 Baseball: Top 85 Transfer Pitchers
#40 Seebold, Gavin
A transfer from Southern Indiana, the senior right-hander was named the No. 79 impact transfer by D1 Baseball this fall. He was the starter for the Hoosiers' opening fall scrimmage at Louisville and retired all six batters he faced in order across two innings.
With a team needing to replace weekend arms in Ty Bothwell and Connor Foley, Seebold seems to be an early candidate to take on a spot in the rotation. In his final year at Southern Indiana, he held a 3.93 earned run average with 58 strikeouts in 71 innings of work.

Freshman left-handed pitcher Brayton Thomas (Fort Wayne, Ind.) led a collection of six first-year players on Perfect Game's 'Top 500 Fresh Arrivals on Campus' list. The outlet highlights the top freshmen talent to make it to campus following the summer's MLB Draft.
Joining Thomas on the list are Hogan Denny (Mooresville, Ind.), Jake Hanley (Mason, Ohio), Grant Hollister (Blue Springs, Mo.), Cooper Malamazian (Clarendon Hills, Ill.) and Caleb Koskie (Excelsior, Minn.).
