No. 17/18 Indiana at No. 12/12 Tennessee (Exhibition)

• The No. 17/18 Indiana Hoosiers defeated the No. 12/12 Tennessee Volunteers by a score of 66-62 in a charity exhibition at Food City Center in Knoxville, Tenn.
• The two teams played for the John McLendon Foundation. The foundation offers scholarships for minority students who intend to pursue a postgraduate degree in athletics administration. It is also home to the McLendon Minority Leadership Initiative, a new coach-driven program to create access to and opportunity for meaningful employment experience for minority candidates known as Future Leaders.
• The Hoosier defense held the Volunteers to 18-of-59 (30.5%) shooting from the floor and 8-of-35 (22.9%) shooting from the 3-point line. Indiana connected on 25-of-60 (41.7%) shots in the game.
• In the second half, IU shot 14-of-27 (51.9%) from the floor, 4-of-8 (50.0%) from the 3-point line, and scored 41 points.
• Indiana held the advantage in points in the paint (32-20), second chance points (10-8), and fastbreak points (18-9).
• Down 54-50 with 8:58 to play in the second half, the Hoosiers rattled off 10-straight points to take a 60-54 lead with 4:17 to go. The lead marked the biggest of the game for the Cream 'n Crimson.
• Junior forward Malik Reneau scored a game-high 21 points (14 in the second half) on 8-of-12 shooting from the floor to go along with eight rebounds, three steals, two assists, and one blocked shot. The Miami native converted 4-of-5 free throw attempts and knocked down his lone 3-point attempt.
• Redshirt sophomore guard Myles Rice tallied 20 points on 7-of-14 shooting from the floor and 6-of-8 from the charity stripe. He also collected four assists, two rebounds, and two steals. The Washington State transfer applied constant pressure on the rim and drew seven fouls against the Tennessee defense.
• Sophomore forward Mackenzie Mgbako scored 12 second-half points to go along with two rebounds and a steal. He knocked down a pair of 3-pointers.
• Sixth-year senior center Oumar Ballo ripped down a game-best 11 rebounds on the defensive side of the glass. He added six points, two steals, and a blocked shot in his Hoosier debut.
• Sophomore guard Kanaan Carlyle scored five points to go along with four assists and three rebounds in 31 minutes of action.
• Senior forward Luke Goode pulled down four rebounds and added an assist in 18 minutes off the bench, most of the Hoosier reserves.
• Sophomore guard Gabe Cupps added two points and one rebound.
• Fifth-year senior guard Anthony Leal produced one steal and one block in seven minutes off the bench.
• Fifth-year senior center Langdon Hatton secured one rebound in six minutes.
• Indiana's will close the exhibition slate on Friday, Nov. 1, against Marian at 7 p.m. ET in Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.
