• The No. 17/18 Indiana Hoosiers defeated the Marian Knights by a score of 106-64 on Friday, Nov. 1, at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.
• Marian head coach Pat Knight, son of legendary Indiana head coach and Naismith Hall of Famer Bob Knight, made his return to Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in his debut season with the Knights. MU Athletic Director Steve Downing was Coach Knight's first All-American at Indiana and was the 1973 Big Ten MVP.
• The Hoosiers shot 46-of-70 (65.7%) from the floor, outscored the Knights 70-24 in points in the paint, secured a 29-10 advantage in fastbreak points, and outpaced the MU bench by a count of 53-24.
• IU dished out 33 assists compared to just 10 turnovers. Nine Indiana players handed out at least two helpers, while three players contributed at least five assists.
• Freshman wing Bryson Tucker scored a game-high 19 points in his collegiate debut. He connected on 9-of-12 shots from the floor. The Bowie, Md., native also collected three assists and a pair of rebounds.
• Junior forward Malik Reneau totaled 18 points, eight rebounds, and five assists in 18 minutes of run. He made 9-of-10 shots from the floor. In the two exhibition games, Reneau averaged 19.5 points and 8.0 rebounds on 17-of-22 shooting (77.3%) from the floor.
• Sixth-year senior center Oumar Ballo was a perfect 6-of-6 from the floor. The Arizona transfer posted 16 points, seven rebounds, and four assists.
• Redshirt sophomore guard Myles Rice chipped in six points, five assists, and three rebounds.
• Sophomore forward Mackenzie Mgbako added 10 points to go along with three assists and two rebounds. He was a team-best +34 in 19 minutes of run.
• Senior forward Luke Goode knocked down a pair of triples to score six points. The Fort Wayne Homestead graduate added five assists and two boards.
• Sophomore guard Gabe Cupps compiled eight points, and two rebounds in 19 minutes off the bench.
• Fifth-year senior guard Trey Galloway went for three points, four rebounds, and two assists in his first action of the season.
• Senior center Langdon Hatton scored 10 points on 4-of-4 shooting from the floor. He added four rebounds and two assists.
• Redshirt freshman guard Jakai Newton made his unofficial collegiate debut after dealing with lower-body injuries throughout his freshman campaign. He posted two points, four rebounds, and three assists in 12 minutes of run.
• Fifth-year senior center Dallas James scored two points and grabbed two rebounds.
• Redshirt sophomore guard Jordan Rayford, a walk-on transfer from Air Force, charted four points, three rebounds, and one assist.
• Senior guard Shaan Burke netted a baseline jumper to give him two points.
• Senior guard Jackson Creel and senior guard Jaden Bobbett each played four minutes.
• Indiana's will officially open the regular season against SIUE on Wednesday, Nov. 6, at 8 p.m. ET in Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. The game will be shown on the Big Ten Network.
