Haworth’s Historic Weekend

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Senior setter Camryn Haworth cemented herself as the best server in program history, breaking Indiana's all-time aces record on Friday (Nov. 1) night against Rutgers. The Fishers, Ind. native spun three aces in Piscataway to break program standard of 197, held by Jen Magelssen dating back to 1998.
She went on to add two more to her career tally on Saturday (Nov. 2) in the sweep of Maryland. She became the fourth Big Ten player in the rally-scoring era (since 2001) to compile 200+ career aces. Micha Hancock (Penn State) and Emily Danks (Ohio State) each hit the mark in the early stages of the past decade. Illinois' Raina Terry did so this season but needed five years to accomplish it.
Since her arrival in Bloomington, Haworth has been as prolific from the service line as anyone in the NCAA. She opened her career by setting a freshman rally-era record with 42 aces. In each season after, she's gotten progressively better. She added 49 aces from the end line in 2022 before tacking on a rally-era record 73 service aces in 2023. Over the past three seasons, no power four player has more aces than Haworth's 159.
Not only has Haworth been lethal from the service line, but her overall impact on the program has made her one of the best players in school history. She ranks fifth in career with assists with 3,630 following this weekend's matches and is closing in on the rally-era record. An offensive threat out of the front row, she's also tallied 342 kills. She has started 86 of 87 matches in the last three seasons and has helped IU to 49 wins in that stretch.
Haworth and her IU teammates return to Wilkinson Hall this weekend for a pair of important matches. Her final game against Purdue will be this Friday in front of a sold-out crowd in Bloomington. The Hoosiers will also take on USC next Sunday afternoon.
