• The Indiana Men's Basketball team (6-2, 0-0) defeated Sam Houston 97-71 on Tuesday (Dec. 5) night at Simon Skjodt to open the month of December. IU is 5-0 at home on the young season.
• IU scored 95+ points for the first time since reaching the century mark (100) in a win over Kennesaw State on Dec. 29, 2023. The Hoosiers finished the game shooting 61.8%, its best single game output since also connecting at a 61.8% clip in a win at Illinois on Jan. 19, 2023.
• Three different players scored at least 18 points for the Hoosiers. IU received 36 points from its six bench players. 46 of IU's 97 points came in the paint.
• After briefly trailing by two points at 9-7 in the first half, the Hoosiers exploded on a 27-3 run that lasted over eight minutes of game time. The Bearkats went 3:47 without scoring baskets during the stretch as IU opened up a double-digit advantage.
• The Hoosiers shot 64.0% from the floor in the opening half, narrowly missing its best shooting performance (64.7%, second half vs. Eastern Illinois – 11/10, 24) across a 20-minute period this year.
• IU took a 17-point lead into the half on the back of 13 first-half points from senior forward Luke Goode. He produced his first double-digit point performance for the Hoosiers and scored a career high 18 points in the victory.
• The Fort Wayne, Ind., native connected on a career high five 3-point field goals including four in the first half. He's the first IU player to hit at least five 3-point field goals in the same contest since Jalen Hood-Schifino (6) on Jan. 28, 2023.
• He's the first IU player to score 18-or-more points off the bench since Anthony Walker in a win over Morehead State on Dec. 19, 2023. Goode is the first player to hit five 3-point field goals in a reserve role since Tamar Bates against Nebraska (Dec. 7, 2022).
• Goode is the first IU player to reach 18 points off the bench – in 17 or fewer minutes played – since Jeremy Hollowell (18 points, 17 minutes) on Nov. 26, 2013 against Evansville.
• Redshirt sophomore guard Myles Rice scored a team high and game high 19 points. He led the Hoosiers with 31 minutes played and dished out three assists while grabbing three rebounds. Rice shot 75.0% from the floor (9-12) in the victory.
• Sophomore forward Mackenzie Mgbako added 13 points on 5-for-9 shooting from the floor. He's reached double figures in six of eight ballgames this season.
• Junior forward Malik Reneau put up 18 points (70.0%, 7-10) with a team high 10 rebounds. He was one of two Hoosiers to play 30 minutes.
• His 18-point, 10-rebound effort gave him his first double-double of the season and the third of his career. His last one came in a win at Ohio State on Feb. 6, 2024. It is his first career contest with at least 18 points, 10 rebounds and five assists.
• Sixth-year center Oumar Ballo provided eight points and grabbed seven rebounds in just 19 minutes of run.
• Fifth-year senior guard Trey Galloway started his second-straight game and contributed three points and one rebound.
• Freshman forward Bryson Tucker added eight points off the bench along with two rebounds and three assists. He played a career high 28 minutes and was +31 on the floor.
• Fifth-year senior guard Anthony Leal played his biggest role of the season in Tuesday's win. He played 25 minutes and scored four points. The Bloomington native added four rebounds and four assists. Leal was a team best +39 on the floor.
• Senior center Langdon Hatton scored a bucket off the bench.
• Redshirt freshman guard Jakai Newton added four points on two made field goals for the Hoosiers.
• Redshirt sophomore guard Jordan Rayford played his first career minutes for the Hoosiers.
