• The Indiana Men's Basketball team (8-2, 1-0 B1G) opened Big Ten play with an 82-67 victory over Minnesota on Monday (Dec. 9) evening at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.
• This is the fourth-straight year that IU has won its Big Ten home opener, moving to 4-0 under head coach Mike Woodson in the first conference contest at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.
• IU shot 56.6% from the floor on Monday evening. It was the third time this season – all contests that resulted in wins – in which the Hoosiers connected on more than 55.0% of their baskets.
• The Hoosiers had two different bench players (Bryson Tucker - 16, Kanaan Carlyle - 14) score in double figures of a Big Ten contest for the first time since Feb. 13, 2020 against Iowa (Devonte Green – 27, Race Thompson – 10).
• IU had five different players score in double figures for the second time this season. It was last done in the win over South Carolina on Nov. 16, 2024. This was the first time that two of the five double-figure scorers came off the bench.
• Minnesota was limited to just 47.3% shooting from the floor and 18.2% from beyond the arc. This was the lowest 3-point shooting output from an IU opponent since last year's win over Minnesota (Jan. 12, 2024 – 15.0%).
• IU's 82 points in the win over Minnesota were the most in a Big Ten opener since putting up 83 in a defeat to Nebraska on Dec. 28, 2016.
• Freshman forward Bryson Tucker provided a career high in points (16) and tied a career high in rebounds (6) as a big spark off the bench in the win.
