Taylor Homers Twice to Sweep Baylor
2/25/2024 6:00:00 PM | Baseball
Sophomore outfielder Devin Taylor hit a pair of home runs while fifth-year senior outfielder Morgan Colopy drove in five runs. Colopy's seventh-inning grand slam, his third long ball of the weekend, helped break open the game for good.
Junior outfielder Nick Mitchell recorded a hit in his first at-bat for the Hoosiers while redshirt freshman first baseman Joey Brenczewski drove in three runs on two hits. Junior left-handed Ryan Kraft (W, 1-0) was awarded the win for 2.2 innings of one-run ball.
IU's 6-1 start to the season is the best in a full campaign since 2018 (started 7-1). The Hoosiers started 8-1 in the COVID-19 shortened, conference-only season. This was IU's first-ever true road three-game sweep of a power five opponent. The Hoosiers swept Louisville on the road in 1991 before it was considered a power five team.
