• Indiana University hits the road for the first of a two-game stretch away from Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in its 124th season of competition in men's basketball. The Hoosiers will take on the Maryland Terrapins (15-14, 7-11 B1G) at 2 p.m. ET on Sunday, March 3, on CBS.
• Maryland, under the guidance of second-year head coach Kevin Willard, are led by fifth-year senior guard Jahmir Young. He ranks third in the Big Ten in scoring at 20.9 points per night to go along with 118 assists and 53 made 3-pointers.

• Sophomore center Kel'el Ware, a transfer from Oregon, has upped his scoring (from 6.6 points to 15.6), rebounds (4.1 to 9.5), assists (0.5 to 1.5), and field goal percentage (45.7% to 58.7%) in his second season. He leads the Hoosiers in rebounds and blocks in 32 minutes per game.
• Ware has scored at least 10 points in 21 games this year after producing just eight such games as a rookie. The 7-footer has ripped down at least 10 boards 12 times this season, including three games over 15 boards.
• In 15 conference games, Ware is averaging a team-best 16.1 points on 62.0% (98-of-158) shooting from the floor and 50.0% (9-of-18) from the 3-point line. He is also averaging 10.1 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per night. He is one of two players (Zach Edey, Purdue) to average a double-double in B1G play.
• Ware tallied a career-high 28 points on 12-of-13 shooting from the floor in an 89-76 win over Harvard (Nov. 26) in Indianapolis. The 92.3% shooting split marked the highest by a Hoosier with at least 10 made field goals this century.
• Against Northwestern, Ware posted 22 points, 16 rebounds, and four blocked shots. He is one of seven players across Division I hoops this season to produce a line with at least 20 points, 15 rebounds, and four blocks.
• Ware tallied 27 points, 11 rebounds, and a career-high five blocked shots against Wisconsin on Feb. 27 to become just the second Division I player to post a 25-point, 10-rebound, 5-block game this season. He made 11-of-12 shots in the contest.
Return of the X-Factor
• Sixth-year senior guard Xavier Johnson returned to the lineup to play 15 minutes off the bench against Wisconsin on Feb. 27. The 24-year-old missed the previous six games with an elbow injury. He missed the final 24 games of the 2022-23 season with a foot injury.
• The Hoosiers hold a record of 7-2 when Johnson scores at least five points and plays 15-plus minutes this season.

• Senior guard Trey Galloway is one of six players in the Big Ten to average at least 10.0 points, 4.5 assists, and 1.0 steal per game. He joins A.J. Hoggard (Michigan State), Braden Smith (Purdue), Boo Buie (Northwestern), Ace Baldwin (Penn State), and Dug McDaniel (Michigan) on the exclusive list.
• Galloway has dished out 90 total assists (5.3 per game) in Big Ten play to go against just 37 turnovers (2.43 assist-to-turnover ratio). He handed out a career-high 12 helpers against Northwestern (Feb. 18) and Wisconsin (Feb. 27) to become the first Hoosier since Hall of Famer Isiah Thomas (1980-81) to dish out 12-plus assists in multiple games in a single season. For his career, the Hoosiers are 14-6 in the 20 games 'Gallo' has handed out at least five dimes.
• He is averaging a career-best 10.4 points per game, including a career-high 28 points against No. 2/2 Kansas (Dec. 16). He converted 12-of-17 shots in the contest. He scored a Big Ten career-high 25 points (19 in the second half) at Ohio State (Feb. 6) while leading IU to an 18-point comeback victory.

• Senior guard Trey Galloway became the second Hoosier (Isiah Thomas, 1980-81) in the last 45 seasons to dish out at least 12 assists in multiple games during a single season with a game-high 12 dimes, six of which result in points from Ware.
Frontcourt Shows Out in Road Loss at PSU
• The frontline of sophomore forward Malik Reneau and sophomore center Kel'el Ware combined for 43 points and 14 rebounds in an 83-74 setback at Penn State on Feb. 24. IU outscored the Nittany Lions 50-28 in paint points.
• Reneau charted a game-high 27 points and six rebounds, while Ware compiled 16 points, eight rebounds, and two blocked shots.
