Six Hoosiers Earn USTFCCCA First-Team All-American Honors

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The U.S. Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released their All-Americans for the 2023-2024 indoor track and field season on Monday afternoon that included six Hoosiers earning First-Team All-American honors.
The men's distance medley relay team saw four Hoosiers on the podium in Austin Haskett, Antonio Laidler, Parker Raymond and Camden Marshall after they finished sixth in the nation with a time of 9:29.37.
Marshall and Raymond are three-time All-Americans while Laidler and Haskett earn their first honor of their career.
Graduate student Jessica Mercier finished eighth in the pole vault after clearing a height of 4.40m/14-5.25. She is the first Indoor All-American Pole Vaulter since Sydney Clute in 2016.
Kenisha Phillips saw her first All-American honors after she made the 400 Meter finals on Friday night. She finished eighth in a competitive final heat with a time of 53.92. The Buxton, Guyana native, is the first sprinter to be named an Indoor All-American in the 400 Meter event. She is also the first indoor All-American sprinter for the Hoosiers since Ara Towns in the 60 Meters in 2004.
To earn First-Team All-American honors Athletes of member institutions must finish in the top-8 of their respective individual events and relays at the 2024 NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field Championship. Those who placed ninth through 16th individually and as part of a relay earned Second-Team All-America while the remaining athletes were honorable mention.
