Indiana Drops Saturday Game at Penn State

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. ––– Indiana fell to Penn State in the second game of the series on Saturday afternoon, 8-3, at Nittany Lion Softball Park.
With the loss, Indiana's season record now stands at 22-8 overall and 0-2 in the Big Ten.

KEY MOMENTS
• Sophomore Avery Parker put Indiana in front 2-0 in the top of the first inning when she hit a two-run home run to left field to score her and junior Brianna Copeland.
• Penn State answered with their own home run in the bottom of the first to take the lead, 3-2.
• Indiana got the bases loaded in the top of the second but could not score.
• In the fifth and sixth innings Penn State would score five more for an 8-2 advantage.
• Indiana tried to rally late in the game with freshman Aly VanBrandt hitting an RBI single to score Copeland and make the score 8-3 in the top of the seventh.
NOTABLES
• Copeland threw five strikeouts for the second day in a row.
• Parker is hitting .429 for the weekend with two RBI.
