Massive Senior Send-Off Presented by IU Athletics and Student Athletic Board
4/11/2024 5:14:00 PM | General, Student Athletic Board
Bloomington, Ind. (Apr. 11, 2024) - The biggest graduation party in Bloomington, IU Senior Salute, is returning to Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall on April 25 from 4-6 p.m.
IU Athletics and Student Athletic Board (SAB) are hosting the event, rain or shine, to celebrate the hard work of the Class of 2024 and thank them all for their unrelenting support for Indiana University Athletics during their time as students. This event affords students the opportunity to see and enjoy exclusive parts of Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall that are normally closed to the public.
DJ Jesse West IV—known for performing at IU home games—will be playing outside the arena and there will be free food and tailgate games for students to enjoy before heading inside Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.
Among the indoor activities for the soon-to-be alumni are interactive photo booths with trophies and IU gear, the opportunity to shoot hoops on the iconic McCracken Court, multiple raffles with prizes, and additional photo opportunities (some with professional photographers). Attendees will be gifted an IU Class of 2024 Alumni pint glass (first 1,000 students) and the first 500 will be given an alumni t-shirt.
Ethan Glaid, Student Athletic Board President, is elated to be hosting the event, saying that, "Senior Salute is the perfect way to pay tribute to our seniors. They've worked tirelessly throughout their collegiate careers, and we are thrilled to honor them in such a meaningful way. The event is a great opportunity to gather with fellow graduating students one last time before their last final exams and their departure from Bloomington."
IU Senior Salute made its original debut on campus in 2008, with last year's event taking place for the first time in historic Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. Entry to the event is free for all graduating students at IU. The raffle drawings will take place starting at 5:15 p.m.
