Opening Statement:
CC: Alright, practice six and third time up here. Not a whole lot more to talk about, but I think it's improving - the flow. It is starting to look more like the practices we are accustomed to. You can hear the pads cracking better. Still a lot of mistakes, which is expected when putting in a new offense, defense, and every day you are installing new stuff. The energy level has been excellent. It was excellent Saturday, and it was excellent again today. So, we are making progress and walking off the field better.
On Saturday's scrimmage and the quarterback rotation...
CC: Well, I am not going to tell you about the quarterback rotation. From here on out I might not be very open about it. I am impressed with [Kurtis] Rourke's progress, let's just say that.
To me a scrimmage is just another practice. It is the players out on the field on their own, so I haven't really thought much about the scrimmage yet.
On the depth chart...
CC: We will worry about that two weeks before the opener.
On Tyler Cherry...
CC: He is getting some reps. He doesn't get quite as many reps as the ones and twos, but he is getting reps every day. He's not ready, but he does throw the ball to the right guy a lot. The arm strength and the accuracy need to improve, but for a freshman to come in and find the open receiver - doesn't always get them the ball - but he keeps plugging along and gets better every day. [If he can] Have a great summer and fall camp and we'll see, right?
On Kurtis Rourke's progress...
CC: He just looks like [he is more comfortable]. The last two practices he has been functioning and looking like a high-level quarterback.
