KEY MOMENTS
- The first quarter ended in an even 2-2 score as the Hoosiers (18-7, 0-4 MPSF) got on the board first on a junior Skylar Kidd goal with 6:26 to play. The Sun Devils (22-6, 2-3 MPSF) added two more before Grace Klingler evened the score on a 6-on-5 opportunity from a feed by freshman Nancy Baylor-Sefchick with 20 seconds left in the frame.
- ASU went up by two late in the second quarter as senior Sophie Wazzan got one back for Indiana on a powerplay with 39 seconds remaining before the break. Graduate student Zoe Crouch tied the game back up to open up the third.
- She added one from distance to keep the game even at 5-all with 2:50 to play in the third. MPSF's leading scorer Luca Petovary regained the Sun Devil's lead but a steal and counter attack from junior Sophia Sollie went in as she went one-on-one with the goalie.
- However, ASU got the last goal in the third with nine seconds left to go up 7-6. It was a back-and-forth affair in the fourth as a Sollie goal and Crouch's two goals kept IU within one. Off a steal by sophomore Grace Klingler, Indiana got one last opportunity in the last 30 seconds as it couldn't get a shot off before the shot clock expired.
