BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — No. 20-ranked Indiana was the latest victim of Dayton's high-powered offense, falling to the Flyers 2-0 Monday (Sept. 9) night on Jerry Yeagley Field at Bill Armstrong Stadium – IU's first home defeat in over a year.

Indiana out-shot the Flyers on the day (15-10) but couldn't overcome an 18th-minute goal that Dayton doubled in the 87th.

KEY MOMENTS
• 18' – Sophomore midfielder Martin Bakken opened the scoring early. Collecting the ball in the box, Bakken shielded his marker off the ball, dribbled toward the end line and fired a shot through the block and past senior goalkeeper JT Harms.
• 80' – Indiana had the better of the chances in the second half, with a 12-4 advantage in shots, and poured on chances late in the half. Senior forward Samuel Sarver (75', 80') and redshirt sophomore Seth Stewart (76') had three shots on goal over a five-minute period, all saved by Dayton graduate goalkeeper Dario Caetano.
• 87' – As Indiana threw men forward with time running out, Bakken and Dayton took advantage on a counterattack and doubled IU's deficit.

NOTABLES
• Monday marked Dayton's first win and goals against the Hoosiers. In all, Indiana owns an 11-1-0 record in the series, outscoring the Flyers 62-2.
• IU suffered its first home loss in over a year, last falling to No. 9-ranked Washington on Sept. 9, 2023, in a 1-0 result.
• Freshman forward Easton Bogard made his collegiate debut as a second-half substitute.
• Indiana welcomed 2,416 fans to Bill Armstrong Stadium Monday night. IU's three-game home attendance mark stands at 10,597.
