Yip van Wonderen leads Hoosiers to Victory over Lock Haven

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. ––– It was a successful Sunday as Indiana dominated from start to finish at Lock Haven, earning a 3-0 road win. The Hoosiers were led by senior Yip van Wonderen who scored all three goals in a hat trick effort.
With the win, Indiana is now 3-5 on the season.
KEY MOMENTS
• Indiana got off to a quick start when senior Yip van Wonderen scored her first goal of the day in the 5th minute on a penalty corner to put Indiana up 1-0. Graduate student Lara Mortz had the assist.
• Indiana freshman Sadie Canelli made two saves in the second period to protect Indiana's 1-0 lead.
• The Hoosiers would extend the lead to 2-0 in the 43rd minute in the third period when van Wonderen found the back of the cage again on an assist from sophomore Theresa Ricci.
• The hat trick was secured on a 48th minute goal in the fourth quarter when van Wonderen scored unassisted to put an exclamation point on the win.
NOTABLES
• This was van Wonderen's first hat trick of her collegiate career.
• She now has four goals on the season and 12 for her career.
• The win was Indiana's second ever meeting with Lock Haven in program history. The last time the two teams met, Indiana had another road win over the Eagles in 2012.
