- The Hoosiers (12-4, 4-1 B1G) opened the game on a 6-0 start while Garzon piled on a pair of 3-pointers to put her team up 14-7 at the media timeout. They forced the Hawkeyes (12-5, 2-4 B1G) into six turnovers in the first as Indiana ed 18-13 after one.
- In the second, IU jumped on a lengthy scoring drought from Iowa as it built as many as a 15-point edge with Garzon draining her third 3-pointer and junior guard Lexus Bargesser found graduate student guard Sydney Parrish cutting to the rim with 3:46 remaining. But Iowa pushed back as the Hoosiers scored just one bucket the rest of the frame and held on to a 36-30 halftime advantage.
- Iowa came out in the third to make it a one-possession game and came within as few as two early in the quarter. Parrish and Garzon drained back-to-back threes with 4:39 remaining to go up 10, 49-39. Parrish's three was part of her 11 points in the third quarter where the Hoosiers shot 53.3 percent.
- Taking that 10 point lead into the fourth, Indiana once again raised its lead to 15. The Hawkeyes took advantage, however, on a seven-and-a-half minute scoring drought by IU. Senior forward Karoline Striplin stepped up with a big time shot with 1:28 remaining pushing the lead up to six.
NOTABLE
- Garzon led the way with 21 points, finishing a point shy of her season high. It's the 14th double figure scoring game for her this season and 14th time she's made multiple 3-pointers.
- She also tied the school record for best 3-point field goal percentage in a single game by going 5-for-5 from the arc. She becomes the ninth player in school history to go perfect from three in a game.
- Moore-McNeil added 18 points in the win, dishing out four assists to go with her three rebounds, steal and a block.
- Parrish chipped in 15 points as she knocked down three triples and pulled down five rebounds plus a team-high three blocks.
- The Hoosiers went 41.7 percent from the 3-point line and knocked down 10 triples on the afternoon. It's the fifth game this season with 10 or more triples and IU is 5-0 in those games.
- Indiana dished out 18 assists led by a career-high six from Striplin. Moore-McNeil and Garzon had four each.
- Striplin also led the Hoosiers with six rebounds.
