ANN ARBOR, Mich. – There was no west coast hangover for the No. 20-ranked Indiana volleyball team (14-1, 5-0 B1G) on Friday (Oct. 10) evening in Ann Arbor. The Hoosiers won a close first set before putting the foot on the gas and cruising to an efficient sweep of Michigan (25-23, 25-17, 25-19) at Cliff Keen Arena. IU is one of two undefeated teams (Nebraska) left in the conference this season.
IU's offense was led by the outstanding play of its two left-side attackers – freshman outside hitter Jaidyn Jager and senior outside hitter Candela Alonso-Corcelles. The duo each had 15 kills (5.00 per set), combining for 30 on the night as the Hoosiers rolled to a sixth-straight victory. Freshman setter Teodora Kričković helped set the offense to a blistering .368 hitting percentage.
Michigan came out firing on Friday evening behind graduate student outside hitter Allison Jacobs. The Wolverines roared out to a 21-19 lead before IU flipped the script and closed the first set on a 6-2 run. From there – it was nearly all Hoosiers in Ann Arbor. IU hit over .300 in each set, including a .414 clip in the final frame of the night.
As the night rolled on, sophomore middle blocker Ella Boersema made her presence known. She finished the night with a team-high five blocks. As a group, the Hoosiers collected eight rejections. Six different players had at least four kills for the Hoosiers. Kričković added eight digs and four kills in a productive all-around night.
Friday's victory moved the Hoosiers to 5-0 in conference play, the best start to a Big Ten season in program history. IU matched a single-season program with five-consecutive league victories. On Sunday in East Lansing (Oct. 12 – 1 p.m.), IU's 2025 team will look to break that streak outright.

• The first set was by far the tightest of the whole night. Michigan challenged for a touch on a back row attack but lost the point to leave the score tied at 21-all. IU closed out the set on a 6-2 run to sneak through with a deuce-set victory. The Hoosiers never trailed by more than three points the whole night.

Notes to Know
• The Hoosiers are off to the best conference start in program history. IU is 5-0 in the Big Ten for the first time in school history and is one of two undefeated teams (Nebraska) left in league play. Four of those five victories have come away from Wilkinson Hall. All five wins were against top-80 RPI programs.
• With a win on Friday, IU extended its Big Ten winning streak in 2025 to five games. It matches the longest single-season Big Ten winning streak (5) in program history – last done twice in 1995. Dating back to last year, the Hoosiers have won seven-straight league contests. That streak is already the longest in program history across multiple seasons.
• IU hit .368 in a commanding offensive performance against Michigan. Since the 25-point rally-scoring era began in 2008, it's the fourth-best single game team hitting percentage against a Big Ten opponent. Four times in the past two seasons, the Hoosiers have hit at least .340 in a single contest against league opposition.
• On top of an outstanding hitting percentage, the Hoosiers racked up 50 kills in just three sets. It's the third time this season that the team has gone for at least 50 kills in a three-set contest. It's the first time that the program has done it in a Big Ten match since 2014.
• Sophomore middle blocker Ella Boersema picked up steam as the match went on. She recorded a team-high five blocks, part of an eight-block effort from IU's defense. It's the sixth time this season that she's had at least five blocks in a match. She also provided four kills at a .429 hitting percentage.
• Michigan entered the weekend with a RPI in the top 25 of the country. On the season it's the third true road win against an opponent with a top-25 RPI. At the end of Friday evening, six of IU's victories have come against programs in the RPI's top 60.
• Friday's win over Michigan was the fifth-consecutive win in the series. Senior outside hitter Candela Alonso-Corcelles finishes her regular season career 5-0 against the Wolverines. It was the first sweep in the series since winning 3-0 in Bloomington in 2023. It's the second Big Ten sweep this season and the 26th since the beginning of 2008. It was IU's first sweep of Michigan in Ann Arbor since 1998.
