INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. ––– Indiana Softball Director of Operations Cassie Hendrix was selected to be a member of the 55th class of the NCAA Women Coaches Academy (WCA) presented by WeCOACH.
The event is taking place from Nov. 16-18 in Indianapolis and is hosted in conjunction with the NCAA.
"I'm appreciative of the opportunity to join the WeCOACH Academy," Hendrix said. "It's a great chance to learn and grow alongside other inspiring women in the profession, and I can't wait to bring new ideas and energy back to our team at IU."
This impactful Academy offers a multi-day transformational experience focused on leadership development and personal growth for women coaches from all sports and collegiate levels, including both two-year and four-year institutions. Since its inception, more than 2,400 coaches have graduated from the NCAA WCA.
Including Hendrix, WCA Class #55 features 78 women coaches representing 18 different sports, and 679 total years of coaching experience. Participants come from a diverse collection of institutions across NCAA Divisions I, II, and III, as well as the NAIA and NJCAA.
"I am excited for Cassie to be part of the WeCOACH Academy!" Indiana Softball Head Coach Shonda Stanton said. "As a proud member of Class 36 and a huge fan of their organization, I know how impactful this experience will be. WeCOACH leads the way in equipping and empowering coaches to grow and have a lasting impact."
Hendrix has been a member of the Indiana Softball staff since September 2021 and helped the team reach three-straight NCAA Tournament appearances for the first time in program history from 2023-25.
